My first facebook app. I_WANT_ONE lets you tell all your friend what you want this holiday season. Go ahead, give it a try.. Also know what your friends want.
One year on, as I look back at this, my personal space, I have but only one thought… Get some more content!
But on the whole I guess it was a good first year. I did put up things, articles, blogs, In Focus, tried Imageflow, Yahoo! pipes. Managed to write a couple of series like the Human Technology (which is still not complete) and Sports and 2007. Also I have had decent encouragement on this endeavor of mine. Still a long way to go in terms of getting more people to visit iRohit.com. The coming year, to put it mildly, is as they say ‘life changing’. So watch this space!
I changed my blog’s tag line. It was earlier ‘me, myself and no Irene’. I really liked it but since it had a solitary feel to it, and I am pushing for a more collaborative effort to create content for iRohit.com, I decided to withdraw it.
My new tag line tries to capture the spirit of blogging. Blogging is about personal views that one wants to shout aloud to the world and hope that they connect with someone…. but at it end of the day it’s just that, your personal views against 6 billion others. And it doesn’t matter what impact it makes, if at all, but you are pleased to have put it out there.
So my new tag line is, ‘Oh well, whatever, nevermind’. To some of you, it will bring a smile and make absolute sense. Others will say, oh well, iRohit.com is finally plagiarizing. Well, anyways, my reply to all is, ‘Oh well, whatever, nevermind’
With Anton Ego’s thoughts at the back of my mind, “In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. Last night, I experienced something new, an extraordinary meal from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Chef Gusteau’s famous motto: Anyone can cook. But I realize that only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteau’s, who is, in this critic’s opinion, nothing less than the finest chef in France. I will be returning to Gusteau’s soon, hungry for more.” I post my first blog on movie recommendations.
Ratatouille
A delightful movie!
The stellar scene is the one where after sampling Remy’s ratatouille, Anton is reminded of his childhood. I have a feeling this will be added to the list of most memorable movie scenes
The Simpsons Movie
A laugh riot!
The whole spider-pig act was absolutely awesome!
We here at iRohit.com vision it to be an informal gathering of people in different fields, walks of life sharing their experiences, views, joys, ideas, pain. I hope that we are able to create something like that. I would love for people to contribute to this site. So I am here to announce my first guest blogger, a very good friend of mine, Madz.
Welcome to the iRohit.com family Madz!
Madz, as he likes to be called in the world of bits and bytes, is a typical brilliant Indian computer programmer during the day. And after work, he dons the cape and saves the world from the evil forces that are out to wipe out whatever goodness that is left using logical reasoning to induce boredom on the victim and render him numb. He fights for the helpless. He is best friends with Spiderman.
He has moulded, or atleast tried to mould himself after his hero Johnny English. He is the picture of the anti - Bond. Subjective not objective is his way of life. Loves movies like Cidade de Deus. Like us mortal loves his music, but unlike us mortals can sing too.
I am sure you will either love him or hate him…
A revolutionary new site was launched this weekend. The launch was a very low key affair. The beta was released on Friday the 30th of April, 2007 to a few important critics, experts in the IT domain. The initial feedback was that the colours were outrageous. The particular comment was from an IT guru with more than 6 years of expertise in the web domain. But this critic when solicited opinions from his peers was surprised by the general view that the site was pleasant. Another critic, who is part of the worlds most visited web portal, was surprisingly kind to the whole launch. He was appreciative of the fact that the people behind iRohit.com had shown the zeal to come up with something that required a lot of effort and commitment. His generally views these people as the laziest on the planet. Another critic who is part of a global leader in information security was particularly amused by the Résumé section. He was quick to argue that money was equally as important as professionalism if not more in the IT industry. Among other opinions and view received from these carefully selected people, most were very impressed with the UI. The iRohit logo was probably the one thing that stuck out more than anything. They all found it very impressive. The iRohit.com team took the opportunity to thank one Asif who was the creative genius behind translating the concept into the reality.
The iRohit.com management was quick to implement few suggestions. The blog being one such suggestion. The feedback section allows the visitors to voice their opinions on this website. As of now the website is still in beta. It remains to be seen how this website plans to generate revenue. No clear business path has been defined for this venture. This is understandable as the team currently lacks any expertise in the financial and business domain. But the iRohit.com team is confident that it will succeed in whatever that they venture into. A highly placed source revealed to us that the site has secured funds to keep it afloat for a year. It remains to be seen whether this is a start of something great or is just another IT venture that is just destined to burst.
